New release for the bridge

Both bridges for X-Plane and FSX/P3D have a new release. Improvements including automatically saving all the settings and customization of the functionalities for some unused buttons on the audio panel. One functionality added specifically for X-Plane is a configuration for controlling the hardware bezel backlight by a switch in X-Plane. To find a command or a dataref in X-Plane, please refer to Commands.txt and DataRefs.txt under X-Plane’s Resources/plugins folder.

Wow, this looks like a lot of work. Thank you very much for this update, I can’t wait to try it.
I would really appreciate it, if you could compile a Linux version too (Ubuntu). Your G1000 is now the only reason why I keep a copy of Windows πŸ˜€

I second that – a Linux plugin would be absolutely lovely!

Didn’t know so many of you like Linux that much. I will take a look when time permits.

Thanks for keeping the software updated. I hope the “synchronize autopilot autopilot switch” checkbox status is now saved in X-Plane, as I find myself having to disable this option every time I ran the simulator or else the two autopilots would keep competing against each other to take control over the plane.

Quick question here, do you think it will be feasible in the near future to make the software compatible with MSFS2020? I am having the joy to play with this simulator these days as an alpha tester and I believe it has the potential to become a game changer. Thanks!

Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, I’m not selected as an alpha tester by FS2020 team. It is said on FS2020’s website that SimConnect library which is used in FSX and P3D will also be included in FS2020 for legacy plugins. If that is true, I think our apps should work with FS2020 without any modification needed since the bridge should work.

I still get a low volts message in my PFD. Any ideas?

According to C172’s manual, low volts shows when voltage for either main or essential buses is below 24.5v. In the program the threshold for the low volts to show is 25v. I will check why is that. Meanwhile, in a normal flight it should be around 28v. So what was the reading when you see the low volts annunciation showing?

Volt is 28 on the X-Plane Screen (Main bus, 24.5 Essential). Turning off the Generator I get the LOW VOLTS Message on the X-Plane G1000 as well. It disappears there as soon as I turn on the Generator again. iPad MFD show the same.

Would it be possible to assign keys to control the FMS knobs? These are tricky to use on a touch screen, and I’d love to be able to use my keyboard or joystick to access them, especially when multitasking in IMC. Thanks!

Do you plan to implement support for keyboard bindings, to control the app, rather than using the touch buttons in the app?
It would be great to have this option πŸ™‚

Does the G1000 support commercial type planes such as Boeing and Airbus?

Not sure about all the commercial planes, but Boeing and Airbus don’t use G1000.

I have the G1000, and it works on all my planes. It uses the data that xplane puts out.
Flight plans with way points work great on my 737.

Sorry, haven’t got time for that yet. We tried once but X-Plane failed to launch on Ubuntu. Looked like a driver problem. We haven’t got time ever since.

Yes, of course. However, since we have contacted FS2020 team by email several times with no response, we need to wait until FS2020 releases.

I read once that there is a file size limitation on Apple apps. This limited what the MFD could display. Has anything changed that would allow for more MFD graphics detail?

    Reply
    1. Koalar (Post author)

It’s not the file size limitation. It’s just the data file itself, just doesn’t has the resolution as high as the original G1000 has.

If you are talking about the pixelation of the topo when the map is zoomed out, it’s not the problem of the data resolution. It’s just simulating how the map is drew on a real G1000. On a real G1000, the topo texture is pixelated when the map is zoomed out.

I’m referring to the level of detail that XPlane 11 MFD displays vs what the MFD app displays.

Hi, Just received the PFD Bezel and it’s a really fantastic training tool. Soon will certainly buy the MFD to complete the cockpit. But I’ve a question regarding the AP function of the Simionic app and Xplane. I fly helicopters (like Bell407 so without LR G1000 installed in by default).
I tought I understood the Simionic AP will take the control of the helo, I suppose by sending to xplane pitch and roll commands in real time. But in fact, when activating the AP button , I’m just loosing control and it crashes (HDG or NAV selected either).
In certain posts, someone said I must deselect the third box in the Simionic bridge (Sync AP master switch) else Xplane and Simionic AP are competiting each other, I tried it but in this case (Sync deselected), nothing happens when AP button is pressed, no autopilot at all.
So I’m a bit confused about the manner the Simionic autopilot interacts in Xplane, its relation with the third menu in the Bridge, and the interaction between Simionic AP and Xplane AP.
Many thanks if you could explain how it operates in detail. And want to say what a fantastic job you’ve done with your app and bezel. Will support you.

      Hi Bruno,

Thanks for your feedback. But our program is to simulate the G1000 system on airplanes. On helicopters I think the flight control is pretty different than airplanes. Sometimes the yoke moves even in opposite directions. So I’m afraid that the AP in the app cannot work on helicopters.

Hi Koalar, thank you for your answer. In fact, before purchasing the Simionic G1000, I own a Realsimgear GNS530 with the plugin REality XP. Tonight, I tried to uninstall the Garmin GNS and the RealityXP plugin … and now it works like a charm. G1000 AP takes full control of the helo and it’s quite stable.
Just a little margin on altitude with ALT selected, and errors on VS but will search why this cannot be full correct.
        Many thanks.

Before I livestream again, I need to get the radios working with MSFS 2020. I can select them on the G1000 and they get selected in the sim just fine. But the voice starts the sentence and stops before the first word is finished, like the ATIS.
If I stop the bridge, the radios work fine and I can hear the whole ATIS message.
Probably a setting in the bridge. In Xplane it worked right out of the box. What do I need to tweak? I need this running for live streams.

Which dataref do I need to use to toggle the hardware bezel backlight?

By default the bezel backlight is control by data ref ‘sim/cockpit/electrical/cockpit_lights_on’. You can also set it to any data ref in the bridge.

Hello! The latest navdata update (2203) seems to cause the MFD to show the wrong heading around VHHX area when I fly around in Prepar3D. MFD in the P3D itself is displaying correct heading, but the heading shown in the Simionic MFD is incorrect. When I checked the magnetic variation information on the apps, it says 88 West. Could you please take a look at this issue? Other than that, great product as always!

my laptop screen and keyboard completely stopped working, screen went black and keyboard no functionality as soon as I connected to Simionic app with FS2020
so I was not able to use my keyboard for FS2020
as soon as I disconnected everything, everything went back to normal? what is causing this issue?
also, why is the CDI is not pointed the same way as fs2020 flying in ap mode, the cockpit CDI needle and GPS do not match what is in the cockpit of fs2020
also the ap keeps disengaging by itself
please let me know via email, thank you valentino18012002@yahoo.com

Our G1000 app is not to co-operate with any built-in G1000. Instead, it also works with planes that don’t have a built-in G1000. So, our app won’t take care of the navigation info in the built-in G1000. For the keyboard issue, I don’t see any reason for it. I’m sending you an email to get to know some details.

Hi, I just bought both apps for ipad. Is there a way to use the same flight plan on the ipad and the game? Because when I load a flight plan into MSFS dont load on the ipad, So i can’t use the navigation. If there is a way I appreciate. Thank you
