Congratulations Li ! I’ll be purchasing my copy today,

(Vancouver, Canada)
Thank you so much!
Thanks Li.
Will be purchasing mine this weekend. I assume works ok with your previous bezel model (9.7″) (ie bluetooth connections?)
Jason
Yes the new app will work in the 9.7 iPads and in the bezels, I tested the new app prior to purchasing it and now seems crashfree in my setup, had to upgrade my old 16GB 9.7 iPad to an iPad with more memory just to cover capacity capable to run the new app and any updates. It has an in app purchase as well to customise engine parameters etc to match aircraft you fly, for me that’s the Citation C700, Airbus A20N, Beech B350i, Boeing B78X I know those aircraft don’t use the G1000 suites but it’s absolutely fine for situational awareness and immersion. I have contacted the developer about customisation feature in the new app and the trouble I’m having with it.
Cheers hope this helps. KP
Thanks Keith.
Greatly appreciated.
Jason
Hi Li, just purchased the nxi app after final testing of the beta version and receiving no crashes and so stopped testing the app. After purchasing and downloading from the App Store I tried customising previous aircraft configs from my earlier app in NXI PFD but as soon as I touch customization the PFD app crashes, it did this also in the beta app and I thought that because customisable settings wasn’t available in beta testing it was causing crashes then, any ideas or answers. Are others enquiring on the same crashes?
Sorry, it’s confirmed that the app will crash when purchasing the customization option. I will fix this soon.
Thanks Li, no problems, thanks as always for your prompt responses I’m sure everyone knows you won’t let us down, keep up the great work.

Great News!
Are all Standard g1000 Aircraft of msfs2020 supported?
It has nothing to do with whether the aircraft has a built-in G1000 or not. Theoretically it works with any aircraft.
The app will be available only for ipad? The reason im asking it’s because my self made g1000 uses standard hdmi screens, instead of ipads. Your g1000 seems a lot better than the default msfs’s g1000
Yes, it’s iPad only.
Hi!
Do we need the Bezel to use the app ? or it can works using only the iPad without Bezel ?
Thanks,
No, it is not necessary.
I Just purchased the NXi app.
I want to try to be positive, but these are my initial experiences, even before trying to make a first flight.
Issue 1) When selecting the Bexel for the PFD for the first time, I just see two serial numbers, and there’s no way to know which one is which. (I can’t read numbers on bezels that are already mounted in a custom panel) There needs to be a way to identify which bezel is which i.e. be prompted to press a button or combination of buttons on the bezel to either identify or preferably select it, instead of selecting a number from a list.
Issue 2) Pressing the ALT knob on the PFD bezel (to display the engine instruments on the PFD screen) switches the MFD back to the PFD screen. Pressing the ALT knob again removes the engine instruments panel from the PFD display and reverts the MFD back to the MFD display. This shouldn’t be happening. It can also lead to the MFD app crashing. (Happened more than once)
Issue 3) I already purchased the customization feature in the old G1000 app. It’s a little disappointing that I have to re-purchase the feature again. The bigger issue is that NONE of my custom aircraft profiles are in the list? How do I restore my 37 custom profiles? Will Neil Hewitt’s Custom Profile Manager work with the new app? If not, this is a major setback for me.
Hi Todd,
Thanks for your feedback for your questions:
1. The bezels are always listed as bluetooth UUIDs. Same in the old apps. You can cut off one of the 2 bezels when paring to identify which one is which. Or just guess, there are only 2 of them anyway. Once paired you don’t need to do it again. They will be paired automatically ever since.
2. Yes, pressing the ALT knob brings the PFD to reversionary mode. It’s not a real function on the real G1000 system. It’s just a favor for people who only has PFD running and want to see the reversionary mode. In other words, that is a function that shouldn’t exist. Since the reversionary is implemented in the NXi app, users should press the red button on the audio panel to set both PFD and MFD to reversionary mode.
3. Yes, it’s a new app that looks me years to develop. Thanks for your support.
Hi Todd, in answer to issue 3, restoring your custom profiles, I had to do the same by logging into Neil’s profile manager and the profiles I created was when flying FSX and the parameters in FS2020 are a little different so had to do a bit of tweaking so that everything matched the performance between the Simionic NXi settings and in sim values matched, I see you’re in there also, and well you may have already done the same since it’s been a few days since your post so disregard this reply if that is so.
I was perplexed too and not being able to use the in app purchase from the orig apps and roll it over the the current one but at $2.99 USD extra I’m happy with that. Anyway hope this setback for you is about to be or is resolved, safe flying.
Regards Kiwi Air PIC
Issue 4) With the old apps, I could open both the PFD and MFD apps at the same time on my iMac and the two communicated with each other. Now that both the PFD and MFD are in the same app, I can’t do that anymore. I can’t launch the same app twice on the same computer, and there’s no way to open more than one window at the same time within the one app in order to display both the PFD and MFD at the same time.
This is true. I hope there is a way that one can launch 2 instances of a same app on MacOS. But I think it’s worth it to have both FPD and MFD in the same app instead of running them both but with 2 apps.
Bought the new Nxi app and the Customization add-on, which works fine now. I used the Simionic Custom Profile Manager to copy the ACCustom.db from the G1000 to the G1000 Nxi without any problem. Thank you, Li Chen.
I connected my PFD iPad to my computer via USB, opened iTunes, opened the PFD iPad in iTunes, selected the NXI app, and manually copied my G1000 ACCustom.db file to the NXi app, and this restored all my custom profiles to the PFD iPad, but this didn’t restore them to the MFD iPad, and this isn’t using Neil’s Custom Profile Manager software at all any more.
Neil’s app only reads and writes to/from the old G1000 PFD app on the iPad (or to/from a file on your computer disk) With the old G1000 app, I only had to update and select a profile on the PFD iPad app, and the MFD app was automatically updated and configured to be the same.
Now it appears that it will be necessary to manually update BOTH copies of the NXi app on the PFD iPad AND on the MFD iPad using iTunes only, and then have to SELECT the same profile separately on BOTH PFD and MFD iPad NXi apps. This is now double the work and twice as error prone, since you have to update and select the profile on both iPads.
Am I missing something here? Can someone explain how they are using the Custom Profile Manager to connect to the new NXi app, or if they are just using iTunes as a workaround to manually make the updates?
Hi Todd, it’s the same as the old apps. You only need to build the profile in PFD. It’ll be synced to MFD when and only when they are connected.
OK. But when I selected the menu on the MFD, it showed that it was pointed to a different profile, which led me to believe that I had to set the profile on both iPads.
That’s how the profile is synced from PFD.
Multiple presses of the bottom left bezel soft key arrow for the Engine menu causes the engine instruments gauges to keep moving up and become compressed vertically. This is with the bar style engine instruments (C700 Cessna longitude profile)
Looks like you found a bug. But I cannot reproduce on my side. Can you please send me the profile or shoot a short video and send to me at lichenpo@hotmail.com? Thanks and sorry for the bug.
Hi Li, yes I’m having similar issues with EICAS too but when selecting menus in the MFD and scrolling through them changes the verticle aspects of the n1 and itt gauges in the bar graphs on twin jets and several presses of the system soft key brings them back down to the correct level then after backing out of that to main menu then all is ok, now it’s only in relation to the twin jets no problem with custom profiles for twin piston or turbo props though. By the way no crashes for a few weeks now for the app in both iPads extremely happy with them, just the aforementioned issue.
Tomorrow I’ll try a short video of the issue and send it to you via your email .
Cheers Kiwi Keith.
Thanks, I’ll test.
ATC doesn’t seem to be receiving the Transponder code in the new app. In the old app ATC acknowledges radar contact after entering the code. In the new app, ATC keeps asking me to respond, even though I entered the code. after that, ATC stops working. I have tried multiple flights. I am flying the Blacksquare Velocity XL
I fly with default Cessna 172 and the transponder works. Please check whether the squawk code changes to what you entered. And does ATC ask you to set to the correct squawk code or to ident? If you are asked to ident you need to push the ident button.
Hi Todd, likewise with me I have to have the insim TXPDR on Alt or TA/RA for ATC and any changes to the code from the app reflects in the sim. The app won’t operate the in sim transponder through their modes somehow even when the autopilot master is controlled from the app, just transponder code only can be changed. When on vatsim pressing ident wouldn’t work either and had to use the vpilot client ident button. Plus there’s an option for mode c as well that took care of that issue. But I hope there maybe something Li might be able to work that out too, but until then I get by.
Cheers Keith P
The app set the squawk code as well as transponder modes, event ident. I flew on PilotEdge with XP12, all worked. Can you please check whether the mode changes when you set in the app with the default C172?
Hi Li, I’ve just tried the default C172 with G1000 cockpit and no response from the simulator garmins, when pressing ident, changing from standby to ALT or ON, the VFR soft key works, however the only things manipulated by the bezel and app is the transponder code, AP master and autopilot functions of course this is with the synchronize field checked in the bridge
Is it XP12 or other version? With the latest bridge plugin? BTW, I’ve found the bug of the engine gauge going up and down. You are correct, that only happens with twin engine, and with rudder trim showing. It’ll be fixed in the next release which will be very soon.
Latest V4.4 bridge, sorry just saw your reply. Might disable rudder trim to see if that rectifies anything with the EI guages
Forgot to add that I use MSFS2020 with Vatsim if that has any bearing on functionality.
Cheers KP
Yep, disabling rudder trim does the trick Li, engine gauges unaffected by the FMS inner and outer knob manipulation, no dramas new update soon you going to do soon as I see, look forward to it.
Regards Keith P
I just started the NXi app up today and it seems that ADF support has been added. This is awsome !!
Many thanks.
I discovered the issue. For some reason, the XPDR was not set to via the softkey. I don’t know how or why it was turned off. I don’t know if it was just off by default and needed to be turned on the first time, or if I inadvertently turned it off, or if it maybe got turned off by a PMS50 GTN750 update. It’s working normally again. Sorry for the confusion.
My message should have said “the XPDR was not set to via the softkey.
Another observation is that there seems to be a discrepancy somewhere between the aircraft position and the CDI when flying in GPS NAV mode. As the plane passes a nav point, the CDI indicates that the plane is off course but the plane appears visually to be on course. Over time the CDI will align as expected, but then the plane is no longer visually on course anymore. (?) It shows to have drifted significantly left or right of the course line on the MFD, and the airway rectangles have drifted off screen on the PFD. All the menu indicators show that the plane is still operating in NAV mode. I keep having to hit the button to the next NAV point to get back on track. After pressing the button the CDI, airway rectangles and path on the MFD all align up again, and stay on course, until passing the next NAV point. then it starts drifting again. If left alone it does keep navigating as it passes subsequent nav points, it’s just that the CDI shows one thing, but the path and airway show something else. This doesn’t appear to be a PID setting issue, or like it’s overshooting a nav point and then can’t get back on course, it appears more like the CDI position data is somehow different from the actual position. This is with the Cessna TTx and the Velocity XL, so neither are excessively fast airplanes.
Hi Todd, I’m having similar issues in GPS NAV mode with the in-sim AP tracking my flight plan, the same flight plan loaded into the app as input into FS2020 from simbrief. Especially when airways are loaded. For ex, after the departure “DEP”is flown and when you enter the en route “ENRT” phase of your flight the nxi app shows that you’re still flying the departure “DEP” all the way to the termination “TERM” phase of the plan as well, the same deviation from course line either left or right after passing waypoints also appears until I hit DCT the next waypoint then it tracks perfect until passing the next waypoint etc. Now if I’m using the app as the controlling AP everything behaves as expected and is displayed as such yet the in-sim CDI shows the deviations. But when I load a plan manually into sim using DCT between waypoints and mirror that into the app none of the deviations or incorrect flight plan phases are displayed in the app or in-sim MFD. I had these same issues with the previous standard G1000 app and while testing the beta version of the nxi app. The issues didn’t create crashes with the current or previous apps or while in beta hence Li wouldn’t be aware of it and I never informed him of it either while experiencing it, I virtually just put up with it. Maybe now with yours and my comments, Li’s interest might be piqued and look into why this happens.
Regards Keith P
I typed the word “ON” both times, but for some reason the word “ON” was removed from both messages?! Let’s see if the 3rd time’s the charm.
This looks amazing as two iPads- thank you!! Two quick questions:
– is there a way to load pre-made flight plans into the app? Or do they have to be created manually using the g1000 input menus in the app?
– is there a manual? Not for the g1000 itself, but for how to use the app?
Than for an amazing tool!
1. Flight plans have to be entered and stored in the G1000 system. There is no import interface
2. No. The operations for in the app itself are pretty straight forward. There will be a simple instruction shown when run the app for the first time.
Thank you!
I have two bezels and iPads, which work great with your PFD+MFD apps. To use them with the new NXi app do I run the new app on both iPads or use NXi as the PFD and the old MFD app as MFD (like it seems to indicate in the on-screen instructions)? If they should both run NXi, how do I configure one to act as an MFD? Currently I can pair them but they both seem to think they are the PFD: I can’t get the FMS knob to work on either of them.
Hi Colin, swipe with one finger to the left or right will switch between PFD and MFD.
Finally upgraded to NXi, what an improvement! However, I found I was getting the the AP dive roll of death when I would set HDG with NAV armed. When it’d get close enough to auto-change mode, my master AP would alarm and shut off. If I enable master AP again the old MSFS2020 death-roll would start. I would turn off AP, fix the extreme trim that came from nowhere, come back to level flight, and then sometimes I could arm HDG only and AP and be OK. And sometimes death-roll again. Sometimes it’d just alarm and shut AP off without any input during level flight. I end up hand flying until the APR, changed to LOC1 and set AP, and it’d try to turn me around (at extreme angles). I thought it might just be the newer MSFS2020 update, but if I shutdown the Simionic G1000 Bridge (v4.4) software then AP would function like normal. Turn it back on and issues would return.
Also a suggestion, give the ability to “LOCK” to PFD or MFD so when using the overlay knobs with finger movement, it won’t try to swipe the whole screen. I love the left/right swipe for PFD\MFDy type, but trying to build a flight plan with the FMS knob left/right finger movement on the overlay is very difficult as it tends to try and move the whole screen some.
Hi Don, I would say that weird things happen with MSFS. The best I can do is to uncheck the “AP master sync” option on the bridge. I will see what I can do to avoid switch between PFD and MFD when interacting with the virtual bezel. Thanks for the feedback!
Hi – amazing app so far, absolutely loving the immersion. Two questions:
– is there a discord or forum for support/questions? Or is it just the comments here?
– does the app interface with navigraph charts for in flight display?
Apologies if these are obvious – I never used the original G1000 app so this might be old news to more experienced users.
Thanks, Crom. For both of your questions the answer is no.
Hi Li,
we have the old PFD and MFD app on two different iPads with the G1000 hardware setup. Do we need to purchase the NXi for each of the iPads sepeartly or is one software version sufficient?
Regards
Martin
The NXi app includes both PFD and MFD. As long as you use the same Apple ID on your 2 iPads, you only need to purchase the app once.
Have you disabled family sharing for the NXi app? I run two iPads in bezels but i use a different account to my main account on these iPads and access the apps through Family sharing ( this stops annoying messages and alerts popping up on the SIM iPads from Apple and other messaging apps etc.) However, purchases go through main account.
This works on your old app (and all other apps I use) but on the NXi app it won’t load saying “app is no longer shared”.
Could you please enable family sharing on the NXi app. Thanks
I didn’t know this can be enabled or disabled by developers. I’ll take a look.
Li,
I believe that there is a bug with syncing the XPDR mode/state to the sim. The squawk code syncs fine, but not the state i.e. “on”, “standby”, etc. Multiple times I have started a flight, the XPDR is “on” in the NXI app. I request flight following and receive my squawk code. I enter the code in the NXI app and the code is reflected in the virtual cockpit, but I get no response that radar contact was received. From that point forward ATC stops working. The issue is that the XPDR is not “On” in the virtual cockpit, i.e. the NXI app isn’t sending the XPDR mode/state to the virtual cockpit, only the code. I have to manually turn the XPDR to “on” in the virtual cockpit every time now, and then all is working fine again. ATC resumes normal functionality. I never had to do this before with the old apps. If I switch the mode in the NXI app from “on” to say “standby”, the virtual cockpit doesn’t change to “standby”. It remains as “on”. I believe that this is a bug
Thanks for letting me know. Is it MSFS or X-Plane?
MSFS
Got it.
Out of curiosity, I made a flight using the previous G1000 PFD/MFD apps to see if this problem happens now in those apps and it does. Perhaps Microsoft made a change that broke this functionality in both the old and the new NXi apps.
Hi. I have just bought the NXi in and I use it my mac computer. Sorry, but how do we change between PFD and MFD?
Swipe the screen to the left or right to switch between PFD and MFD.
Hello, this app looks wonderful! I just upgraded from your previous app. I would run the PFD and MFD app side by side on my Mac as I liked that better than the iPad option. It seems I am unable to run both PFD and MFD in two separate windows on the Mac NXi version? I hope this is possible with the current version I have now?
Yes, because the PFD and MFD are now in the same app for the NXi version, and MacOS doesn’t allow running 2 instances of an app at the same time, so there is no way to run both PFD and MFD in 2 apps on an Mac. Will keep an eye on that.
I have two issues I can’t resolve.
– On the MFD, if I set a range to say 10 miles, after several seconds the display range resets to a different mile range. Why does this happen and how to prevent it. The graphic shows “Auto” after the mile range.
– On the MFD, nearest airport page, how do you scroll through airport frequencies? There are three listed but I see a scroll down bar that tells me there are other frequencies. I can’t get to that section to scroll.
Still no answer? Let me ask another way. Are these functions only supported in the real G1000 NXi and not the app?
All Simionic users,
I went to Neil Hewit’s G1000 Profile DB web site to add a new profile for the Cows DA42. I entered all the data and saved it, but when I went back to edit it later, I discovered that the profile was missing. (?) I tried uploading the profile file and saved it, but when I check again, it was still missing. (?!)
I then edited one of my other profiles (Diamond DA62), saved it and then checked to verify that it was still there. Nope, it disappeared as well.
I just edited another profile (Learfan 2100), saved it, and then checked. Gone now as well.
*** USERS BEWARE ***
Something’s wrong with the database / website.
Editing/Saving profiles on the website deletes them.
I emailed Neil multiple times about the issue but haven’t received any response. In the past, he has always responded in a timely manner.
I don’t know if something has happened to Neil, or if anyone knows anything more about this, but I wanted to alert all the other Simionic users to this issue.
UPDATE: I was finally able to get in touch with Neil Hewit.
He confirmed and resolved the issue.
He said that it appeared that I was the only one affected by this database issue.
I have re-uploaded the lost profiles, plus the new Cows DA42-VI.
The G1000 Profile DB is back online and working again. 🙂
Hi there ! Been using the new NXi App which is great! I have one question with respect to TO/GA.. Using X Plane 12 – I have setup a button on my joystick to activate TO/GA for practicing missed approaches.. however when I trigger this the bezel does not go into that mode and sequence to the climb then missed approach (like the real plane). I was wondering if there is a procedure and/or setting which would allow this to work? makes great functionality for practicing approaches and going missed….
The app simulates real G1000 system as well as the flight director and autopilot which may have conflicts with the built-in autopilot. Therefore, autopilot and flight director modes are not synchronized with the game. GA is a mode of the flight simulator, so it’s not synced with the game. It can only activated by a key board connected to the iPad or the GA button on our full panel for Cessna 172S.
Hi there thx ! I do have the hardware bezel on the pfd – the mfd is an iPad with a keyboard – is there a button on the keyboard which I can push on the connected MFD to activate ? I don’t mind doing that just was not sure how to do it . You are correct in that when I activate TOGA on the sim directly it doesn’t work cheers and thx !
Pressing Shift+G in PFD app activates GA mode.
Anyone else having Bridge connection problems or disconnects during a flight?
I’m having a few more problems with NXi connection to XP12. Usually will disconnect during a flight for unknown reasons. Don’t see anything in the XP12 log file.
– I read that the apps need VC 2019 Redistributable Package installed. I have Win 11. Do I still need to download this older package or is it included in the latest Windows 11 redistributable packages??
– Also read that Windows Defender firewall may be blocking the Bridge connection. Was recommended to add an exception for the Bridge program. In Defender, add exceptions, the Bridge .xpl file does not show up as a program that can be given an exception. Defender is looking for a .exe program. How do I assign an exception to the Bridge .xpl file? XP12 is assigned in Win 11 Defender.
– Most of the connection issues were mentioned to be network problems. Where else should I look?
Quite rude to reply to one persons requests for help but ignore anothers. Has been done to me twice.
I’ll remember this when future apps are offered for purchase.
Hi I am new in this group and I started using the NXI app recently with a double setup on twoiPads with PFD and MFD. I am still familiarizing with the system but I came across something that I can’t quite undestand. It is about the airport maps with taxiways; they seem to be there only for a few airports. For instance: I could find London Gatwick fully reproduced, but Heathrow has no airport map and taxiwyas. Is that normal?
Zoom in.
I did zoom in, down to the lowest scale; nothing: they are not there. Try Heathrow or Milan Linate and let me now if it works with you
I did zoom in, but nothing , they are not there; try Heathrow o Milan Linate and let me know if you can see them
Yes, I can see taxiways at Heathrow airport. I doubt the navigation database is corrupt. Please try deleting the app, free some space(2GB+) and re-install it again.
Ok I will try that; I am using two brand new iPads with almost 50 Gb of memory available and only the NXI app installed
I did what you suggested and no joy; same situation. I checked all the airports in my country (Italy) and only a few seem to be randomly there. Disappointing
I’ve removed the apps and reinstalled them; no joy. Still the same situation : some airport do not appear with their taxiways
I’ve seen a similar issue. With the MFD zoomed in to see the taxiway route, the taxiway will appear to just stop. I know the taxiway continues since I’m on it and can see it continue to the runway by looking out the windscreen.
In my case they don’t appear at all, simply they are not there
Were you able to fix the viewable taxiway issue? Curious why the developer is not assisting.
I’m discussing this with Sergio via email. It’s strange that I don’t have this problem. Do you have the same problem? Send me an email to lichenpo@hotmail.com and let me know the details with some screenshots. See whether I can dig out anything.
Emails sent with photos.
Try KSEZ Sedona AZ. XP12 M key for map shows runway, taxiways and ramp. NXi only shows runway.
Sent another email. KJAC Jackson Hole, WY. Runway, taxiway and ramp show on XP12 map display. Only runway on NXi. Zoomed in to 250 and 500 ft.
Have not received a reply that you received the first email with photos.
Hi Richard I am in touch with Li Chen but so far, even after updating my Ipads to the latest IOS and having reinstalled the NXI app a few times, the probem is still there. Some airports do not show taxiway maps ( for example : Milan Linate or London Heathrow). With the old G1000 they are there
Sergio,
I’ve also updated iOS and did one NXi reinstall. Neither has helped. Hopefully resolved soon.
Richard
Any new information on when this issue will be fixed?
VISUAL Approaches please 😉
Hi Li and the rest of the community people here,
I am relatively new in this group and recently purchased the NXI app using 2 iPads, one running MFD and the second PFD. I connected PFD to MSFS2020 via the and each other connected all fine.
Now from what I understood reading majority of comments above there is no way to load a flight plan to the NXI app via MSFS , but only directly to the app.
1/ Is there any other way to load flight plans to the app or only manually ?
2/ if I enter them manually then the G1000 of MSFS is synced or not ?
3/ if I enter them manually I get no ATC, correct ?
p.s. PC and iPads are in the same network and brand new with enough memory.
You are correct. Flight plan is not synced between the app and MSFS.
Li,
This really needs to be addressed in a future update. In the real world, pilots transfer their flight plans from Foreflight, Garmin Pilot, etc. to the avionics hardware in their aircraft. We need to be able to do the same from Sim Brief or the new MSFS 2024 EFB.
Do we have weather and radar on NXi? Asking since I don’t see it with options selected on the MFD. If not, would be nice to have a list of what is not modeled in NXi.
Li, What is the recommended order for launching and configuring the NXi PFD, NXi MFD, Data Bridge, and MSFS 2024? I am experiencing a high frequency of connectivity issues between the PFD and MFD in MSFS 2024. Sometimes the PFD and MFD get into this repeated cycle of connecting and then disconnecting over and over again. Several times the location displayed on the MFD isn’t correct. Sometimes the engine instruments panel on the MFD don’t match the PFD (?) It seems like the MFD is frequently confused that it should be connecting to the PFD. It will display a message stating that it is connecting to the MFD (?!) when it should be connecting to the PFD(?) What is the recommended way to change the aircraft on the MFD app to match the PFD when they don’t match? Should I select the same aircraft profile as on the PFD, or should I select PFDcus. I have tried both, in that order (same aircraft, then PFDcus), but it doesn’t always resolve it. Sometimes I just quit both NXi apps altogether, wait a few seconds, and then try starting all over again.
Typically, I launch the PFD iPad NXi app first and wait for the Bezel connected message, then I press the ALT center knob to display the engine panel on the PFD and select the aircraft profile if needed. I then launch the MFD iPad NXi app, wait for the Bezel connected message, wait for the connected to PFD message, and then swipe the screen to the MFD screen. I do my initial flight plan loading on the PFD first, then I add the altitude data on the MFD for the VNAV profile if needed. Then I launch MSFS 2024, select Free flight, select and configure the aircraft, select a parking spot at the origin airport and start the flight. Lastly, I launch Data Bridge and verify that it is connected to the simulator. (Frequently it doesn’t connect the first time. I almost always have to Close the data bridge and relaunch it to get it to connect. If it doesn’t automatically connect on the second try, then I would manually enter the PFD IP and select Start). Sometimes, I am also getting red X’s on the NAV2, COM2, and DME indicator beside the HSI. IF I swipe the PFD to the MFD panel, then back to the PFD panel, this will clear out the red X’s, but then the PFD and MFD start the disconnect / reconnect / disconnect / reconnect issue. quitting and restarting the MFD NXi app doesn’t resolve the issue. To be honest, this whole having the PFD and MFD apps all in one has made the MFD setup flakey and unreliable in my opinion. I all too often find myself fighting with getting it to work reliably.
Hi Todd, there is no order needed to get them connected. They should be all connected regardless of which one launches before which one. All should be discoverable automatically. But, it’s better that do not switch between PFD and MFD. Just switch one to PFD and the other one to MFD as you need. And keep them like that every time you launch the app. The aircraft is always synced from PFD to MFD. So, you just need to select the aircraft you need in PFD. When MFD is connected it’ll be switched to the same aircraft as it is in PFD, no matter whether it’s already added or selected in MFD or not. Bezel connection is through bluetooth and has totally nothing to do with network. Nothing to worry about when to connect the bezel or when it connects automatically at all. For those connection problems, most of the time is the network settings like firewall configuration or wifi signal. If automatic connection cannot be achieved but manual connection is good, there should be something blocking UDP broadcasting which is need to for the apps to discover others.
Li, I believe that some of the issue is that in MSFS 2024, some of the variables have changed. For instance, I determined that the issue with the Red X’s on the PFD were due to using a different command to turn on the AVIONICS BUS from my physical hardware switch panel. In the new Cessna Corvalis 400 TT, the variable used to turn on/off the AVIONICS BUS1 switch is a B: event (B:ELECTRICAL_AVIONICS=1/0), but the NXi app needs to have AVIONICS MASTER 1 ON/OFF set, in order to detect power to the PFD, so my current workaround is to bind both commands to the physical switch. There is a similar issue Battery voltage. I am not getting any battery voltage reading in MSFS 2024, nor do I get any Vacuum or TIT reading. That being said, I never got Vacuum or TIT output in MSFS 2020 either. (These have been longstanding issues.) I do see a change in electrical current when the alternator is turned on, but the voltage reading is always zero. I have experienced the zero voltage in all MSFS 2024 aircraft that I have flown so far. (Cessna 172 G1000, Cessna Corvalis 400 TT, and the Cessna 404 Titan)
Li, Part of the issue is when I push the ALT button on the PFD bezel to display the Engine Instruments Panel on the PFD. This always reverts the MFD app back to the PFD interface, even though it was originally set to the MFD interface. So, I always have to swipe the MFD screen back to the MFD interface on the MFD iPad (I reported this as a bug long ago). But the other issue is when I change aircraft on the PFD iPad. The MFD Engine Instruments Display doesn’t automatically switch to and reflect the new aircraft, which is why I’m running into this issue with how to change the aircraft on the MFD iPad. I have to somehow get the MFD app to reflect the new aircraft’s engine instrument panel. So, I either manually select the same aircraft on the MFD, which changes the panel, but then switch it back to PFDcus. However, sometimes the engine instrument panel reverts back, so then I have to either quit and restart just the MFD app, or quit both the PFD and MFD apps, and start all over again. It’s never a matter of the PFD and MFD iPads not connecting to each other automatically, it’s always a matter of the iPads frequently being confused as to which iPad is which. (PFD or MFD), and keeping the aircraft synchronized between the two.
Curious if anyone else is seeing .toc files added to the XP12 directory? They seem to get added each time I use the NXi app and X-Bridge.
