All looks very cool. Some interesting new hardware options for us. Is there any likelihood you could make some kind of roadmap for the G1000 software development for 2022?

I’m a happy user of the G1000 hardware and software, and very impressed with what it can do, but there are a few missing features IMHO. For example, I know people have asked about flight plans before and about copying the FP from the sim to the G1000, and you’ve replied that this is not supported as it’s not how it works in the real world. Which is true, yes, but in the real world the Garmin units have SD card readers to let you transfer flight plans made in PC-based tools, and also there is a Bluetooth unit available which lets people transfer flight plans from Foreflight etc. Having to input a long and complex flight plan on to the G1000 directly is both tedious and unrealistic. It ought to be possible to add the feature to the G1000 Bridge software to transfer a flight plan over from the PC, so you could (for example) use Simbrief or build an FP on Foreflight and transfer it to your PC and then to the G1000. It’s *the* critical missing feature for me, because I sometimes fly long flights (in the TBM, for example) with relatively complex VNAV profiles, and the idea of spending 30 minutes inputting the plan with the dials alone puts me off from doing it. My older (and inferior) G1000 solution allowed me to transfer the flight plan from the sim.

I love the ability to create custom aircraft profiles, and that you support piston, turboprop and jets. This is the whole reason I decided to move to your system rather than any other. It opens the system up so you can simulate pretty much any aircraft with a G1000 fitted, and even retro-fit it to aircraft with other avionics. Very cool. I note, though, that when you create a custom profile, the v-speeds do not appear on the speed tape. That’s standard G1000 functionality, isn’t it? Would appreciate if that’s something that could be added.

Lastly, can I add my voice to the requests for Navigraph support? It’s great that you’re putting out a regularly updated database but I have found airports and navaids missing on the G1000 that are available on my PC or Foreflight – for example, Vancouver Harbour Airport is completely missing, or was at the last update. Navigraph’s data seems to be as complete as we get in the sim world. For those that have Navigraph subscriptions, being able to use that data with Simionic’s G1000 would be a huge plus.

From my POV as a fairly advanced user, more customisation would be ideal. I’d like to be able to add checklists, change labels etc to be in line with the G1000 implementations for different aircraft. Garmin variants like Perspective could be simulated. I’d be happy to pay extra for these levels of customisability.

I’m already a very happy user, but some or all of these (flight plan loading in particular) would make my life complete!

hi Neil… I agree with all of your points, but the one that resonates most with me is the ability to upload the Flight Plans to my Simionic G1000 to have it mirror the one on the plane. This is for my, by far, the most needed feature at them moment….

I only wish that Li can give us and update whether this is on a list of things he will develop….

Li Chen, any chance of a Garmin G500TXi and Garmin GTN 750/650 hardware and software? There are quite a large number of aircraft the have been upgraded from steam gauges to the G500TXi and GTN 750/650 and pilots who would like to have a simulator to practice.

Garmin has apps for both on the apple store, however they don’t work in a simulator environment.

    Thanks

We don’t have plan for those for now. But I think there are already products for GTN serials on the market from other companies which you can take a look at.
